Kitchen Tricks: Patterned Rolling Pins

Gotta love baking. These crazy rolling pins by Polish designer Zuzia Kozersk are pretty ingenious.

Using a laser engraver to create rolling pins with mustaches, cats and even dinosaurs, cookies have never looked this good!

Kozerska has an online shop on Etsy, where you can browse her collection - or even get your own design engraved.
Please and thankyou!

Madly in love with: DANIEL RADCLIFFE x WHAT IF

Daniel Radcliffe in a rom-com?! Finally!

The only way to make this any better would be for me to be his leading lady!

What if...

...I become an actress and make him fall in love with me?

Madly In Love With: Acoustic Above & Beyond

Holy schmoly. Drop everything you're doing now and watch/listen the below video.

Because, believe it or not, it's a live and acoustic version of Above & Beyond's Sun & Moon.

How bleeding amazing was that? For one to be even more impressed, one should at least be aware that Above & Beyond are in-fact an English dance music group consisting of members Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness, and Paavo Siljamäki.

That trivia was taken off Wikipedia because, contrary to popular belief, I am really not in tune with these kind of things. I only learnt recently that the term 'EDM' stands for 'electronic dance music'. (Silly me thought my friend was referring 'electronic direct mailer', which was a very confusing conversation to me.)

Anyway, here's a litle more about this project as explained by THUMP:
Earlier this year, Above & Beyond performed some of their best-loved songs acoustically as part of a 15-piece band, across four sold out shows at London's famous Porchester Hall. The response from fans was overwhelming and led to two sold-out nights at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles in October, described by Billboard Magazine as "one of the finest and more memorable shows in EDM history."
Above & Beyond partnered with THUMP on the production and filming of the London shows to create a concert film that captures the Porchester Hall performances and the story behind the acoustic project. The songs performed at Porchester Hall also form the basis of the "Above & Beyond Acoustic" studio album, which was recorded in the spring and summer of 2013 and features a 24-piece orchestra.
The song 'Sun & Moon' is vaguely familiar to me and, as it turns out, is one of their best-loved tracks. It tells the story of a bittersweet love affair, and the pain and release of a couple's break-up.

So beautiful. Why don't they keep to producing these kind of music instead? If you're keen, you can catch the full concert here

Noodles x Art

Two things:

My job sees me dealing with various disciplines and facets of art on a rather regular basis (which I'm really thankful for). Whether it is film or visual art (lately with literature too, actually), I find myself gravitating towards Asian artists more for inspiration and enjoyment.

I have fallen dangerously in love with South Korea and its culture/everything since my travels in the Fall. I know it's all in the head but I'm even developing a Korean appetite (everything tastes better with kimchi — even it's just rice wrapped in bamboo salted seaweed).

So imagine my double excitement when I stumbled upon this series of work called 'Myun' by Auckland-based artist Seung Yul Oh. I love it!

(jjajangmyeon - a Korean take on Chinese black bean noodles, naengmyeon - Korean cold noodles, ramyun - Korean instant noodles)

Um, YUM? I love all the above noodle dishes wtf. Koreans do it better.

Anyway what makes it even more spectabular is that these 'sculptures', made out of epoxy resin, silicone, steel and aluminium, rise to a height of more than 3 metres!

Oh, to have noodles that go for miles. See more more of Myun and other works here: http://www.ohseungyul.com/

(ALSO: Very much belated — but JKT wishes the Internet the bestest things in the new year!

Here's to hopefully more than one blog post and of course, another year of friendship and good times x)

Happy birthday, VJ Ro!

A little belated, but our very own VJ Ro marked a pretty important milestone last weekend — her 25th birthday!

Obviously the best thing she has accomplished in her quarter of a century is having us lot as friends.

Obviously Kirsty and Yvette are our token model friends.

Happy birthday, Rosie! We love you lots and lots xx

If you're not all caught up on
Jessica and Tim's dating experiment,
I probably don't love you anymore.

Living In The Real World.

I know.

We've been awful at this. Only because we've been too busy being awesome (with other honorary JKT members) in real life — which is obviously more important.

But today I woke up and realised that a) it's really amazing to not wake up at 7am and b) it's already the start of June. Holy crap! So I'm going to make a conscious effort to add "update JKT" to my to-do lists. This is my mid-year resolution!

Say first only lah.

JKT FOR JT

I like to think I speak on behalf of all of us at JKT when I say I HAVE BEEN SOOOO HAPPY ABOUT JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE'S COMEBACK.

I wasn't too blown away by Suit & Tie at first, to be honest, though I was just so glad to know JT was putting out new material (with Jay-Z collaboration too, holy shit!). But it is now safe to say that it's my JAM. Then iTunes offered free streaming for  The 20/20 Experience a week before it's album release this week — which I, of course, abused and had on loop at work all the time.

I'm so happy to have Justin Timberlake actively back in my life again. This man is a true star.

The below two performances on SNL (Two of many he's been doing recently. Talk about publicity...) are just incredible, and proof of why it's hard to not love him. That medley is sick!

JKT FOR JT!

THINGS I WANT

If I had USD1,575 to spare - I would definitely buy this for my future cat! (it's going to be a British Short Hair I tell you...)

I also want this ...please?

Although on reflection it might be dangerous to have both in the same flat...
