The River Song

One of my favourite things about living in Singapore is the amount of honest musical talent we have. Sure, they may not be selling out shows in minutes or topping the radio charts (hell, they're not even on the radio mostly) but they're good, humble and full of amazingness.

One such example is everyone's favourite (without a doubt) local band Plain Sunset and of course, its spin-off front man Jon Chan. (Trivia: As a young teenager, I had the BIGGEST crush on this man. I freaked out when I found out he lives a stone's throw away from me, and especially so when he turned up at my house for a party one night. And then we became friends. 14 year old me would be proud.)

Jon  recently appeared in a video for a certain Audrey's final year project where he talks about daily life in Singapore and how it inspired the birth of the beautiful River Song.

I'm pretty sure the story behind the song was he was walking home one night from Home Club to .. home which is a good-solid-many-many-hours-long walk — and he was so taken in by the lights and sights around him, which is something I also personally love about Singapore. Also, every time I hear it I believe this needs to be a National Day song.
